The Navi party members in Persona games are quite honestly the team’s backbone, and Futaba Sakura in Persona 5 Royal is one such that’s no exception.
If you want to maximize her in battle with the buffs and other passive benefits she provides, maxing out her social link is vital, especially for the mid-to-late-game events.

To unlock those beneficial confidant abilities quickly, we’ve prepared a confidant guide for her Hermit Arcana in Persona 5 Royal with every event, dialogue option, and the known favorite gifts to gain her likability.
As with our other confidant guides, make sure you’ve got a Hermit Arcana Persona in your inventory before engaging with Futaba to gain the maximum points from the dialogue choices.
Futaba Sakura Confidant Abilities
If we’re talking about the best party members in the game, Futaba has the Navi role in the team, and if you’ve possibly played any other Persona title, you know how crucial the role is.
In the long term, Futaba provides various kinds of random buffs in battle, and her confidant abilities, which I mention below, only help to strengthen that pool of buffs or stat effects.
You’ll definitely want Position Hack for the instant battle advantage and Active Support’s Charge buff during boss fights for extra damage.

You meet up with Futaba automatically on August 31st to start her Rank 1 social link event. Both Joker and Futaba visit Akihabara to get some sightseeing done.
This whole adventure ends up causing a misunderstanding with a police officer, but I guess it does help Futaba experience a part of the public world.
“That looks bad! What are you gonna do!?” |
Let’s help. 0 |
Let’s watch. 0 |

Let’s ignore her. 0 |

The social stat requirement for this event can temporarily soft-lock you for a good while, so don’t be discouraged if you have to sideline Futaba momentarily to raise your Kindness.
In this event, Futaba reflects on the Akihabara trip and vows to do better. The biggest takeaway is her preparing a ‘Promise List’ of different goals she wants to accomplish.
“But online classes are better for studying! I wouldn’t even have to leave the house.” |
That wouldn’t solve anything. 0 |
That’s a great idea. +2 |

We’re going back to Akihabara…again. But this time, Futaba’s not lost or astray without Joker.
We do end up losing her amidst a crowd that rushes in like a tidal wave, but Futaba finds us without losing her nerve.
On the bright side, the task of “being in a crowded place” is off the list, so that’s good.
“I… I, I, I…” |
I what? 0 |
So you’re okay? 0 |

I was about to come find you. +3 |

Make sure Shujin Academy is in session for this event to be available and not off for the weekend or holidays.
The next to-do thing on the list is to go to school. Something easier for most students, but it is an enduring task for a recovering shut-in like Futaba.
Luckily, our esteemed Student Council President, Makoto Nijima, is still here to give a campus tour. She also encourages Futaba to attend school in the future to make friends and further improve her knowledge.
“Can I use a Goho-M instead?” |
Nope. +2 |
Let’s do this together. +3 |

Probably one of my favorite events from Futaba’s social link. Joker and Futaba head to the diner, where they run into Mishima.
The entire conversation is lighthearted banter between both, with the occasional (slightly cringe) video game lingo from Futaba to make some jabs at Mishima.
“Is this a friend of yours?” |
He’s in my class. 0 |
Friend might be a bit much. 0 |

“Maybe my luck stat’s really high.” |
I think you’re right. +3 |
No. 0 |

With most of the “Promise List” done and dusted. We now move on and learn about someone very important in Futaba’s life: her childhood friend Kana.
Kana was Futaba’s only friend in elementary school before the former eventually moved away.
Futaba’s biggest regret is not being able to apologize to her for reading her horrifying diary entries and not helping her, so it’s time she made some overdue amends.
“But one day, she said something to me: ‘Good morning.’ She started saying it every day from then on.” |

This is a short rank-up event in which we learn the dark secrets of Kana’s horrible parents from every dirt Futaba found on them.
As dreadful as it is to learn everything they’re putting her through, the only way to save Kana is to change her parents’ twisted hearts.
Kana’s already issued a request for her parents on the ‘Phan-site,’ so we’ve got both the husband and wife’s names.
This unlocks the “Daughter’s Just a Meal Ticket” request for Mementos, which you must complete to unlock the next event on Futaba’s social link.
“…Apparently, they’re still having her model in strange clothes. They’re even selling the pictures now…” |
What horrible parents. +2 |
We have to put a stop to this. +2 |

With the case about Kana’s parents finally cleared up, Futaba finally reached out to her friend, and both of them promised to attend high school together starting next year.
Futaba also thanks us for supporting her throughout this ordeal and completing her arduous list of goals.
“Long story short… we made up! I finally apologized to her.” |
That’s incredible. +3 |
I’m glad to hear that. +3 |
