Each week in the event brings new story content for players to complete. If you do this quest — and all the other quests part of the event — you can get free items like The Suprise Birthday Cake and The ElectroDance Floor.
Here is how to unlock and complete the week one “Missing Clues” quest in the “Blast from the Past” event in The Sims 4.
‘Missing Clues’ quest walkthrough in The Sims 4
To unlock the “Missing Clues” event quest in The Sims 4, you need to complete the prior quest, “A Strange Visitor.” That quest had us running around gathering information. Now that we’ve done that we’re going on a little treasure hunt.
The game tells you to “Refresh Your Memory in The Sims Archives.” Go find a computer and interact with it. Select the option, “Play Game…” and then click “Play The Sims Archives.” After that, the game tells you to “Find the Special Time Capsule.” In this part of the quest, you’re going on a little treasure hunt until you find the right item. There are several correct ways to find the item, we’ll explain how we did it.
Polygon traveled to Magnolia Blossom Park, paused the game, and scanned the scenery until we found a spot to dig. You can find a spot to dig up a collectible by looking for a protruding rock as pictured below. Once you find one of such rocks, click it and examine your options. If it shows the option, “Dig for Special Time Capsule,” then click it. You found the right rock. Some won’t have that option. Keep looking for a rock until it gives you that option.
Once you find the time capsule, click the box-like button in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen to open your Inventory. Click the “Special Time Capsule” item and select “Open.” It will turn into an item labeled “IOU Note.” Click the “IOU Note” item and select the “Read IOU” option.
Now go find our blue-haired boy, Emit. He was still in Magnolia Blossom Park when we went to look for him at this point in the quest. Click him and select the option, “Report about Time Capsule.” Now — and for the last time — we’re going to talk to three Sims characters again. Talk to three Sims and select the option, “Accuse of Being of Time Traveler.”
Once you do that it’s time for one final step: Some good old thinking time on the toilet. Go back home, use either the toilet or shower, and select the option, “Ponder Time Travel.” Once you do that, you’re good to go. The quest is complete and you can collect the event rewards in the Main Menu. You can see a list of all “Blast from the Past” rewards here.
