Summary
- Marvel Rivals has reached 20 million players, showcasing impressive success.
- Players receive a free spray as a thank you gift, along with a winter event.
- Expect gameplay changes in the winter event, with new modes and skins.
While most games have problems getting attention from gamers and retaining player interest, that doesn’t seem to be the case for Marvel Rivals. Last week, we reported how NetEase’s free-to-play hero shooter attracted 10 million players in 72 hours. If that’s not impressive enough, the game managed to outdo itself.
NetEase has announced that Marvel Rivals has now amassed 20 million players! There;s no platform-breakdown, but even so, this is a very impressive achievement.

NetEase Gifts Players With New Spray For Hitting Impressive Milestone
The spray shown above is now available to all players, and this is NetEase’s thank you gift for having 20 million players join the fight. Players just need to login from December 20, 2024 to January 10, 2025 to claim the free in-game item.
Logging in on December 20 won’t just give a free spray, but players will also be greeted with the game’s winter event! Players will be able to partake in a new 4v4 mode, earn a new — and cute — cosmetic skin for Jeff the Land Shark and more!
We’re also expecting gameplay changes to be part of the new event. Expect bug fixes, and maybe some adjustments to be part of it. Could we see a balance change coming with it? We can’t say for sure. What we do know is, it won’t include a role queue option, as NetEase has confirmed it’s not in development for now.
