Leaked trailer for cancelled LEGO James Bond looks amazing – WGB

A trailer has leaked online for a cancelled LEGO James Bond project made by digital LEGO masters TT Games. A few minutes long, the trailer pitches an exciting James Bond game that recreates a bunch of iconic moments from the films, all in the trademark slapstick LEGO style.

The trailer was uploaded by Linterni Gamer who claims it was leaked onto their own Discord server. Linterni Gamer runs a small Youtube channel focused on various LEGO titles, in which Linterni makes custom levels, mods and shows off things like unused title menus, unfinished levels and much more.

Understandable concerned, Linterni includes a disclaimer in the video’s description, saying that: “‪@ttgames2978‬ this video is not mine so in case you guys dont want me to have it here, let me know and I will remove it. This trailer got leaked surprisingly on my Discord server and it’s an official trailer cause literally everything that appears looks exactly as the previous trailer but with final designs.”

The video itself has text which reads: “Confidential (TT Games Studio) – Not for Distribution. R&D Content Only – Not Representative of Final Products.” This indicates that this version of the trailer was likely made to pitch the idea. The public trailer, should it have ever been approved, may have ultimately been very different.

Exactly how and why the trailer came to be on the Discord is unclear. Presumably the source of it worked for TT Games at somepoint and enjoys Linterni Gamers work, but that’s purely speculation.

Regardless of how it appeared, the trailer seems legit, although these days it can be hard to tell.

A unfinished trailer for LEGO James Bond appeared a few days ago on Reddit. The version Linterni Gamers uploaded is the finished version,

According to a moderator on the Reddit page, it was initially believed that LEGO James Bond was pitched as year 3 content for LEGO Dimensions. However, upon speaking to a someone who worked on Dimensions, the moderator learned that it was actually a standalone game that TT Games pitched to The LEGO Group. Sadly, The LEGO Group did not think Bond was a good fit and turned the idea down.

Whatever the story behind the game, the trailer makes me sad that TT Games never got a chance to make it. James Bond seems like an excellent fit for the LEGO license.
