Summary
- Grand Theft Auto 6 set to launch in Fall 2025, confirmed by Take-Two.
- Game likely to dominate 2025 release schedule with minimal competition.
- The threat of a delay has been downplayed, but it’s still there.
Grand Theft Auto fans can rejoice, as Take-Two has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 is still on track to launch in Fall 2025, despite the ever-present threat of a delay.
It’s not hyperbole to say Grand Theft Auto 6 is going to be the biggest game of 2025. In fact, the reason the release date schedule of the year is so blank is likely due to publishers not wanting to release their games anywhere near it, for fear of sales being utterly cannibalized.

It might have been over a year since the first Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer hit the Internet, but that doesn’t mean the game has been pushed back. Take-Two’s latest financial results have confirmed that the game will launch in Fall 2025.
Grand Theft Auto 6 Is Still Launching This Year
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick addressed the idea of Grand Theft Auto 6 being delayed to IGN, stating that “Look, there’s always a risk of slippage and I think as soon as you say words like absolutely, you jinx things,” followed by “there’s always a risk of slippage,” the company “feel really good about it [launching fall 2025].”
Those are bold words, but it’s hard for fans not to be worried when it has been so long since any concrete information has been given about the game. The wait for a new trailer seems to be going on forever, with no solid release date in sight.

However, the fact that Grand Theft Auto 6’s release window is being solidified to investors is a good sign.
The delay could still happen and it’s hard to get hopeful so far out, but it’s still early in the year. If the summer gaming season passes by and there is still no news, then it will be time to panic and start booking time off in 2026.
