Gladiator 2 4K Blu-Ray Preorders Are Already Available Online

After almost 25 years, Gladiator 2 finally premiered in theaters on November 22–but while its theatrical run only just started, retailers are already offering preorders for the film’s upcoming 4K Blu-ray release. Multiple versions are available at Amazon, including a collectible steelbook edition for $51 and a standard edition release.

Gladiator 2 takes place 20 years after the original Gladiator. It follows Lucius (Paul Mescal), the son of the first movie’s protagonist, Maximus (Russell Crowe), who is taken prisoner after the Roman Empire invades Carthage and–just like his father–is trained to fight in the gladiatorial arena. In addition to Paul Mescal as Lucious, Gladiator 2 also stars Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, Joseph Quinn, and Connie Nielsen. The film has received positive reviews, with many critics praising it as a worthy successor to Ridley Scott’s original film.

The first Gladiator film’s 4K steelbook edition was also recently reprinted and is available now for $28 at Amazon (was $31). Walmart also lists the Steelbook edition for just $20, but it’s currently sold out.

If the Steelbook edition also sells out at Amazon, you can grab the standard edition Gladiator 4K Blu-ray for $28 instead, which includes the theatrical and unrated cuts of the movie. There’s also a double-feature version that includes 4K versions of Gladiator and Mel Gibson’s Braveheart in one package for $24 (was $34)
