Apex Legends’ 24th Season: Takoever, arrives in less than a week’s time. Ahead of release, Respawn Entertainment has detailed several quality-of-life updates for its free-to-play Battle Royale title, in addition to providing more information about the latest challenges, events, modes, and rewards dropping next week.
In the latest Apex Legends Developer Update, Evan Nikolich, the design director on Apex Legends, provided more details about Arsenals.
“Arsenals take the guessing game out of looting and get you into the action faster. Arsenal Stations are located across the map, letting you choose which weapons and ammo types you want to run.” described Nikolich.
It appears that while the locations of the Arsenal Stations are set in stone, the weapons within will be randomized.
Nikolich also states that every single weapon available in the game is getting a balance update with this new Season, ranging from ammo adjustments, updated recoil, or a damage increase, for example.
“These changes are intended to bring more power to the weapons in Apex and make every weapon feel refreshed,” he explains.
Throughout the Developer Update, the phrase “changing the meta” is uttered several times. Respawn Entertainment seems undaunted as they make these changes, going on to describe updates to Assault Class Legends and substantial buffs to both Ash and Ballistic.
Another consistent message throughout the Developer Update is the pursuit of greater clarity.
Be that your post-match stats and ranking changes to now being able to see all Loot Tiers, Points of Interest (POI) and Arsenal Information during the drop phase.
The Majority Of The Changes And Updates Are Intended To Make The Game Clearer And Quicker To Master Accross All Modes
On a slightly more serious matter, Steve Ferreira, the Game Director on Apex Legends, gave an overview of changes and further developments on anti-cheat measures and matchmaking adjustments.
These in-progress methods are intended to make the game more fair, and more accurate in terms of maintaining game integrity via an upcoming feature that will make it easier for players to report errors and toxic users.
In addition to all this, Road to Ranked has been described as a new way to get players into Apex’s Ranked Mode by way of replacing previous account milestones with a challenge completion checklist meant to prepare the player for the Ranked Mode environment.
As for the eponymous Takeover, content creators from the Apex Legends community will offer new modes and challenges on a limited-time basis.
These changes, updates, potentially game-changing tweaks and more will begin dropping alongside Season 24: Takeover on February 11, 2025.
