Age of Empires 2, originally released on PC in 1999, saw a remaster in 2019 that was released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. In November last year, we reported on how it was currently being playtested on PSN, which makes this announcement unsurprising. \\

Both strategy games have received favorable reviews. Age of Mythology: Retold has a “Strong” rating on Open Critic, and 88% of game media recommend it.
As for Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, we gave it a solid score when it was released in 2023, and said, “After a dozen or so hours in Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition, I can safely say that it’s the real McCoy. This is not a watered-down port to give Microsoft an easy first-party Xbox Game Pass release. It’s the real deal and as feature complete as the PC edition, which is quite an accomplishment.”
