Hawkeye Offensive Strategies
Hawkeye is the best sniper in the game, bar none. He can sit back on your backline and pick enemies off individually, no matter how tanky they are. You haven’t lived before you two-shot an enemy Venom!
- Sniper 101: As nice as it is to pop headshots, it’s easier to hit someone’s body. Doing some damage is better than doing no damage.
- Sniper 102: Aim where the enemy is headed toward, not where they currently are.
- Your double jump isn’t just for escaping perilous situations. It’s also for reaching advantageous vantage points from which to snipe the enemy backline.
- The hardest part about playing Hawkeye is getting the aim down, but just keep playing him. The more practice you get, the better you’ll do.

It really makes you feel like Spider-Man.
Hawkeye Defensive Strategies
You can’t expect to one-shot people without them getting upset. After a certain point, the opposing team will do everything they can to stop you. Thankfully, Hawkeye has an impressive amount of defensive utility at his disposal.
- Your double jump gives you an impressive amount of verticality to avoid and escape enemy divers. More often than not, you can even reach places the enemy team can’t reach!
- Ronin Slash and Hypersonic Arrow are two impressive abilities that can come in clutch when defending and dishing out damage.
- You don’t always have to use your Piercing Arrow. Blast Arrow does a good job dealing with enemies up close and personal.
- Don’t force yourself into dangerous situations. There’s no need to engage with the enemy if you don’t have support. You do a lot of damage, but this isn’t a Marvel movie; you’re not going to solo the enemy team.
Hawkeye Team-Up Abilities
Team-Up |
Heroes Needed |
Description |
---|---|---|
Supersensory Vision |
Black Widow |
Hawkeye can share his Hunter’s Sight with Black Widow, enabling her to catch sight of and damage afterimages of enemies. |
Hawkeye’s Marvel Rivals Team-Up Ability is simple: you give Black Widow 20% extra damage.
Having two snipers on your team is not always beneficial, but it can certainly come in handy on certain maps and scenarios. Unfortunately, though, it’s not too exciting.
Hawkeye Counters & How to Deal with Them
Hawkeye’s biggest counter is your personal skill level. If you can’t hit your shots, you won’t do well. It’s as simple as that.
Oh, I need to talk about heroes? Oops!
Divers like Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Iron Fist will fare well against you should you be caught alone and out of position. You can use your mobility to get away, but it’s better to play it safe than sorry. Squirrel Girl is surprisingly effective, too, since she can throw grenades from places you can’t always see.
Star-Lord can be an excellent counter, too, given his speed and sustained damage. Hela can use her high damage to pick you off from a distance or just rain hell with her ultimate.
Thanks to his shield and portal, Doctor Strange is the perfect Vanguard to counter Hawkeye’s damage output.
Best Team Comps With Hawkeye
I’d love to say that you want Black Widow to unlock the Team-Up, but ultimately, it’s not worth it.
Luna Storm, Mantis, and Cloak & Dagger are excellent options as healers, but then again, they’re excellent healers no matter what.
Since you’re taking care of enemies from a distance, you’ll want someone who can get up close and personal. The Punisher, Winter Soldier, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Iron Fist, and even Hela are all excellent options.
There are plenty of Vanguard options that do well to distract the enemy team: Venom, Hulk, Magneto, and Doctor Strange can disrupt the enemy while dishing out damage, allowing you to clean up.
