New Details about the Upcoming Game

Jordan in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet

In the latest discussion, Neil was quick to point out that, indeed, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is anime-inspired. It borrows heavily from Akira and Cowboy Bebop, explaining Jordan’s red jacket in the trailer, similar to that of Kaneda in the popular 80s title, Akira.

Regarding the gameplay, the studio boss disclosed that it aims to create a unique sci-fi experience that incorporates themes of religion.

“It revolves around what happens when you put your faith in different institutions.”

Neil also discussed characters like Tati Gabrielle, who plays Jordan. She was also featured in the Uncharted movie adaptation. He compared Tati’s audition to what he felt like “when I first saw Ashley Johnson as Ellie.”

Among other revealed cast members is the comedian Kumail Nanjiani.

Naughty Dog has displayed an impressive portfolio through its iconic IPs, including the most awarded in history, The Last Of Us 2. With such a celebrated name, the studio is expected to meet players’ expectations like it has done with previous IPs.

Neil has promised to deliver what he described as the “deepest gameplay in Naughty Dog’s history.” While an exact release date remains unannounced, the game is confirmed exclusively for PS5.
