Call of Duty Black Ops 6 And Warzone Patch Makes Guns Stronger

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 And Warzone Patch Makes Guns Stronger

Everyone loves buffs. Everyone loves their favorite gun getting a bit of love from the devs – and if you’re a Call of Duty fan, there’s good odds that a recent patch just made your favorite gun very happy.

The most recent patch for Call of Duty Black Ops 6 and Warzonebuffs up a ton of weapons, especially in terms of accuracy. It goes much further than just ensuring each bullet hits its mark, and the patch’s blog post breaks it down in detail.

Get an edge on the competition by using the best weapons available.

In short, whether you’re firing from the hip or aiming down sights, each buffed gun will be much better behaved in the player’s hands. There’s less recoil, lower idle sway, and less motion while the player’s on the move. You point, you click, you drop targets.

Do the changes make the games a bit less realistic? Perhaps – but realism clearly isn’t much of a priority here. The developers are making a power fantasy, and these changes bring the game more in line with their goals.

Players will notice far more stability while turning, moving, changing stances, and firing, especially while ADS.

Call of Duty also has a mechanic called “Aiming Idle Sway Delay”, which the developers describe as follows:

Aiming Idle Sway Delay is a mechanic that scales a weapon’s idle sway when first entering ADS, so the initial point of aim matches the crosshair positioning. These values are now improved and consistent across all weapon classes. Sniper Rifles, which previously only scaled initial idle sway by 50%, now provide a complete reduction.

With a buff this strong for snipers, the developers also mentioned they’ll be keeping a close eye on things. Powerful guns are fun, but getting blown to bits by a sniper you can’t see brings occasional frustration. If the changes make snipers too oppressive, the developers may roll things back.

Call of Duty’s New Changes To Maps And Modes

Despite the patch’s focus on guns, it obviously isn’t the only change on the menu. There are also some slight tweaks to different gametypes, and some small map adjustments.

First the easy stuff: spawning logic on the map ‘Hacienda’ has been adjusted. Additionally, a visual bug on Nuketown Holiday that caused players to get a little too green was fixed.

Now, the missions. Score limits have been increased for Domination, Kill Order, Kill Confirmed, and Team Deathmatch games. The increases also apply to the 10v10 Moshpit versions of Kill Confirmed and Deathmatch.

When combined with the weapon buffs, score increases are interesting – you can shoot down enemies more easily, but you’ll also need to score more kills to win a match.

Prop Hunt also received some small tweaks – all props, except extra large ones, had a movement speed buff. The round timer was also shortened to 3 minutes, from 4.

These changes are all live today, so if you’re curious to see how they affect your experience, all you have to do is jump in and try them yourself.
