The game is described as a “no-nonsense, action-packed take on wizardry that emphasizes precise movements and smart comboing of spells in a roguelike dungeon crawler that features over a hundred unique spells and relics.” Players can control their favorite element combinations to unleash devastating attacks upon their enemies. It results in a retro-inspired 16-bit work of art on screen that’s incredibly addictive.
Wizard of Legends also borrows some gameplay inspiration from Castle Crashers. It features cooperative, over-the-top dungeon crawling before a fight to the death at the end of the level.
On OpenCritic, the game has a “Strong” rating, with reviews highlighting its fun, fast-paced gameplay and replay value. A sequel, Wizards of Legends 2, is in Early Access on Steam.
What to Expect Next from the Epic Games Store
According to a leak from billbil-kun, 16 games are expected to be made available in total, with the final reveal taking place on January 2nd, 2025.
